Anyone Run Vented Wastegate?

Anyone here run a vented wastegate? I'm about to cut my recirulation pipe off and use it as a dump tube for awhile until I can get the exhaust better sorted out. If any of you all run em like that, got any soundclips?

Um, I think you mean a vented BOV - you can't vent a wastegate since it sends it out the exhaust anyway :razz:

Yeah its routed back into the DP right now, going to put a dump tube on it so it blows under the car when it opens. You have any sound clips of them? I know they sound like a big exhaust leak(thats what it is) but I just want to see how "loud" its going to be, gotta a good idea just looking for some more refrences. Thanks

saw an open wastegate on an is300 and it was loud as hell. not nessecarily loud noise wise but loud in terms of air venting out

i cant find a clip but it will probably sound like a dirtbike or other semi small engine my question is why unless your having a problem with creep or surg when the gate isnit working properly

how big of an exaust is the gate running to basically

I had my wastegate dumped on the supra. Some say it was loud some say it wasnt it just depends. It have been proven that dumping the wastegate makes more power over rerouting it to the exhaust. Ill post up a link to a few dumped w/g cars.

Its because of how I need to turn the DP to hook it up to the rest of my exhaust, long story but I have my reasons.hehe

Yeah Craig, ive heard the same theory thats why I want to try it out. I can easily put the tube back up to the DP if I dont like it.:nice:

I have an o2 dump which is basically the same thing. It is loud as fuck but sounds good on most cars. Mine doesn't sound great because I have a manifold leak so all you hear is that. lol

I've got a dump tube on my DSM. I love it and think it sounds great. With most people it is a love it or hate it thing. I had Roger Hughes in Elizabethton weld it up for me. He did a great job!:nice:
