Specialized has treated me nothing but good. IF it's that specific model, it's got good components, some that I use on my custom GT with even a better front fork. I'm currently using a Manitou Black series, need to upgrade if/when I start riding the mountain again.

Fox stuff is the shit... Wish i could afford that stuff. I picked up a cannondale super v bike. Its kind of outdated frame wise thought it was a good starter bike for the price.. It as a rear shock up graded, cane creek ad 10. Front fork upgraded forgot the name at the moment. Has cane creek headset on it. Handlbars, handbars mount and other things have been upgraded on it... Try t get a pic of it tomorrow and post it up

That bike looks like overkill if you're just getting into it. For sure lose those clip-in pedals unless you want your shins to be eating rocks and ground cause I can guarentee you will be laying it over quite often with those. Other than that its a sweet setup. I personally have a GT LTS-3000 down hill bike.
EDIT: Just looked at the ad.... I'd jump all over that for sure lol.

I agree on the pedals, but we're talkin' 20 bucks there. As for the overkill part, having started out on a 15 year old "1300$" bike and recently transitioning to a 4 year old "2300$" bike, I don't think there is enough overkill to warrant NOT getting it. ;)
I rode the 15 year old bike a couple times last week at the bike park, and while it still kicks some ass back there you just don't realize how much you're leaving on the table until you step up. My Giant is badass in my opinion.

No shit. If hadn't just bought a winch and a set of front tires....i'd be giving you feedback on this bike. :)
