I know i'm not the only one in here who likes to do some running...
My first time going to the gym I was over 12 minutes...my calfs would catch on fire the first .25 of the mile and made it really difficult...
I'm down to 9:45 now and just now feeling like the world isnt going to end after I get done...
Back in high school I was down below 7 minutes....meh

shoot back in high school i could run the mile in the 4:30 - 5:00 range depending on how dedicated i was. now i prob could do it under 7:00 - or i'd end up dying of heartattack and not finishing lol... i'm out of shape compared to then. my cousin set the school record at like 4:19 or something like that

the record is 3:43.13 set by a dude from Moroco in 1999. I could probably do it in 20 minutes or better with a good tailwind.

Ran a Mile and a half in basic in 9:15. That was in 1994.:lol2: Today, I would probably drop dead at about the 3/4 mile mark.

No bs man. And the world record is 3 min 43 sec. A lot of people run in the 5 min range which was what I was normally. I pushed once trying to keep up with cousin and got a 4:35 or 4:37 if I remember correctly. His was a 4:19 or 4:29 it's been 12 years lol so can't remember which. I weighed bout 160 or so and was really fit

Right now I run a 6:47 mile and I hardly ever do cardio due to trying to bulk up.
My best time in HS I ran a 5:29 in tennis workouts.

i have to run a timed mile for my job and the best i have run it in is a 5:52! i would have to call :bs: on the whole 4:19 or whatever. i have run a quite a few races and most of the time some damn Kenyans come over here and run 4 min range miles and thats all they do. im about 160 lbs and 5'10" and there is no way possible i could run a sub 5 min mile and im in pretty good shape considering i do it for a living.

I wish it was bs guys... That f'r always bested me at almost every thing. I'd do 10 pullups he'd do 15, I'd run the 40 yard dash and he'd beat my time, I could throw a baseball faster, but he was more accurate, I could lift more weights, but only because he was tall and super skinny, etc... The mile time could've been because now that I think on it I don't know if it was a true measured mile or not? I'm pretty sure it was though. It was 4 laps around the outside of the bleachers and all way around the football field? Heck they made us run it in full football gear during football season. Don't remember what time I ran on that. Anyone on here that knows me knows I'm honest why would I have a reason to bs. I don't have anyone to impress. Someone asked the mile time and that's what I normally ran close to 5 min. I remember a 5:02, the best in a 4:35 or 4:37, I even ran a worst in the 7 min range cause I wanted to run with a friend. I was an avid bike rider and would ride for miles, I also ran a whole lot we ran the mile 2 times a year for P.E. And 2 or 3 times for baseball, 2 times for football. They tried to get me to run track, but what was the point my cousin always won lol, and I had no interest in it or basketball. Call bs all you want don't bother me.

In high school at almost 300lbs I did the mile in about 25 mins LOL! Nowadays its about 12 mins on the elliptical and 15 mins on the treadmill. I know that's not the greatest but it's better than nothing. Once my Sciatica heals I wanna be able to get it down to 10 min mile on the treadmill.
