What is the best way to repair rust and prevent it from coming back? Is there any places that do it? Anyone ever had it done before?

Where is the rust? Best way to be sure it won't come back is to cut the section out and put new metal back in via welding.

Rear quarters.

Probably be easiest to cut it out and replace it unless its really high up in the quarters. Its not that hard to do varying on the bends in the metal.

Its where they all always rust, right over the tires, and back to where the rear bumper meets it. How expensive is that usually? Sounds pretty costly.

depends on what the car is worth....most likely you will wanna cut it out and put in new metal...if its an old beater car grind it out throw in some mud and rattlecan the hell out of it.....
or just dont fuck witrh it....body work is expensive

IMO I would do what this guy says either bondo it or leave it.

Where its at on your car is gonna cost you quite a bit to fix so Bondo is the way to go. Its using Bondo for a big fix that sucks its not that big of a deal on something as small as your little section.

you do realize alot of cars have body filler right from the factory....nothing wrong with mud unless your trying to make a whole body panel out of it...

Filling rust with filler is a no no. It's a band aid. It will work, yes. But it will crack back out or continue to rust.

Do you cut it out and weld it and all that jazz?

This is correct. Kellys car has the bandaid on it and it make it look better but doesnt solve the problem. Best thing to do it cut out and weld in new metal.
Cancer (AKA rust) doesnt go away. Its like a can of pringles once it starts it dont stop lol. There are ways to hide it tho for temp use. But will have to be cut and welded to get fixed 100%.

How much do you charge for rust repair?, to cut/weld? Pretty good amount on the rear quarter of a CRX?

To answer a few questions, Yes I cut out the rust and weld in a new patch panel.
The price depends on alot of things and is priced per job.

I will try to PM you with info and pics in a few days. I'm not looking to have it fixed asap, but maybe around April and would just like to get a few rough ideas/estimates of cost.

cars do not come with bondo from the factory, no matter what you have heard. cars are baked at several hundred degrees, its would melt. :lol2:

Same. I just want it taken care of. It looks so tacky, and that seems to be the only way to fix it indefinately. Hell, hopefully I will have enough to get all the body issues worked out and have you just repaint the whole car while its there...

Seam sealer on most places. Now, some cars may be damaged in transit and get fixed at the dealer before selling BUT the factorys don't use filler on the body parts.

they are baked before the assembly process begins. cars are built nowadays by using a uniside assembly, from the front door post to the end of the quarter panel is one piece. only old cars used filler in the seems and it was either brazed oe leadded in. no cars have bondo in them unless they were dammaged after assembly and repaired.

Speedworks speaks the truth.....Unless it wass damaged and repaired no filler(bondo is such a bad name...So from here on out we shall call it liquid (insert name of what you are working on here) in a can....)Seem sealer isnt going to melt in the bake cycle...Paint will blister beore that stuff does...

You can use seam sealer to fill rust holes, right Jon? (in a sarcastic tone)
