Has anyone tried it? My uncle tried it and it worked really well for him but I thought I would see if everyone had good results with it so I would know what to expect. I'm going to start and see how it does for me. I will keep you guys updated.

I do it. Especially now that I've moved to "no gym country". I've done 3 of the discs for about 2 years though prior. I added them into my fight training: the plyometrics disc, the yoga, and the cardio disc. Now i've started doing the rest of them. They're moderately challenging. They only get my heart rate to about 65% max but I definately can feel them. And they're keeping me at a stable weight to cut from for fights. And also, it's better than nothing.

However I dont follow the nutrition plan. I tried it before, but with fighting, there is definately not anywhere near enough calories to function. I was throwing up every day.

So I definately think you should try it. IMO you'd need to be above average on your physical fitness due to the 1 arm pushups and all the pushups and pullups. But either way, just do what you can. They show you alternatives if you can't do the excercise that they are doing at the time. So good luck, go ahead and do it.

Awesome man thanks. I'm wanting to try it. I was actually going to start doing it to get in shape to fight but I also need to find somewhere to train. Where is a good place and where do you fight at? I have been wanting to fight for a while but I need to get in better shape and train and learn first.

I have trained at East TN MMA in kingsport for a long time. You are in wise. You're #1 Choice and the first team I ever trained with is Team F.A.S.T. . They train in Norton under Hard Rock Gym. Get in touch with them through myspace. They used to train on Monday and Wednesday nights @ 6:00pm.

I have now moved to wytheville and will be training with Team Mannon. Head instructor is a blackbelt in BJJ under Renzo Gracie and has won Grappler's quest and lots of MMA titles. Best of luck to you. The only way to get in shape to fight, is to practice fighting. Trust me, I've seen people who could run all day long gas out the first time they roll or spar. So just go do it if that's what you want to do.

Yea I have heard of them but I didn't know where they were I will definetly go down there.

My problem is I need to drop a little weight too. I knew the best way was like you said to practice. I was just wanting a little something else to help me drop some excess weight too haha. Thanks a lot man.

i did it for about a month and a half.
then just got out of it.
the first week is terrible no kidding.
you won't want to get out of bed.
but i didn't get any skinnier because i didn't do the diet plan, but i noticed more muscle.
it is a great program.

I've been doing p90 for 3 months and I am pleased with my results. Ive dropped 37 lbs and gained a lot of muscle at the same time. I like some of the discs and hate some but overall I really do like it. I don't follow the nutrition plan from the book, I just watchmy calorie and fat intake which has seemed to work well for me. The nutrition guide is great but I just don't have the time and money necessary to do exactly what they want you to. Give it an honest effort and you will see results.

If you stick to the diet plan and workouts you'll see dumb results. Ive never gotten results from a workout like i have from p90x and I pretty much workout for a living, as in thats what the main portion of my every day consists of.

i actually just started this last week and its intense

JPWEraser

It is very intense. I am on my 13th (last one, yay!) week of my first round and I am so glad that I did it. I have lost 33lbs in 12 weeks so far gaining tons of muscle all the while. I was able to run 3 miles last night without batting an eye so it also really gets you in shape too. My best advice is to give it your best and if you fall short, don't worry about it at all. If you bust ass and stick with it, you'll be doing those 1 arm pushups and all that no problem. When I started I could only do about 40 push ups and 25 pull ups. The last time I did that same workout (last Monday) I was able to do well over 120 push ups and 65 pull ups. I feel better about myself, I am stronger, more fit, I don't eat crap food anymore, and I don't even WANT to eat crap food anymore which is the best part. Look at it as a lifestyle change and not a temporary thing. You will succeed if you put yourself into it and do your best. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or need advice.

I just ordered a copy of p90x... i borrowed one of the disc and did one work out last week and i'm still sore we'll see how i do with all of the discs... But the only thing about me is i just want to get in shape not interested in losing wieght.

Then just eat clean and do the 8-12 reps instead of the 12-15 reps. You'll probably gain some lean muscle.

plyo is the worst.
but once you make it one week you are set.

JPWEraser
08-19-2009, 08:16 PM
I would have to agree... I hate plyo, a lot. I liked kenpo at first but got really tired of it by about the 10th week or so. One of my favorites though is the core symmetrics disc. It's a shame that the program doesn't have you doing that one more because it really hit me hard every time. Just keep at it and the soreness will get better after the first 1-2 weeks.

I have been going to the gym on a 6 day regular basis for over a year and then I started this new EMS job and no longer have the time to go to the gym. I've been doing pulls ups, push ups, and an otherwise unhealthy amount of cardio to maintain my strength from the gym. I am very capable of doing 50 push ups and 50 pull ups all in varying positions and I've been doing that every day since I started this job. I started P90X earlier this week and its straight up whoopin my ass man! I feel like I put in a full 2 hour work out at the gym. You'll love it if you can stay committed
