How much do you smoke?

How long have you smoked?

How are you quitting?

Problems?

I'll start.

pack/day for 2 years 11 months

cold turkey, on day 6 now

Get about two cravings a day, not for the nicotine, but for the motions of smoking, so I've been trying to find something to do with my hands to keep them busy when I get the cravings. Other than that it hasn't been hard at all, no headaches or grouchiness.

Now to see if I can sleep better and gain weight again.

-I smoke after I eat, when I am bored or drinking.
-I have smoked for about 6 or 7 years.
-No Job = No Insurance = No good worth a damn meds to quit (although i do realise its usually at your own will)

I mean it was hard at first I wanted one but instead I'd just stay busy, or chew gum or something. I pretty much stopped cold turkey no problems really. I coughed a lot for the first week then was fine.

my dad smoked for 20 years 2 packs of winstons a day...he used the patches and spearamint gum...he still uses the chewing gum 9 years later..just wrigleys in the green pack ..he said it took the edge off the cravings...

my wife quit cold turke after smoking a pack of marlboro lights a day for 6 years....she had a c section on our youngest daughter, ended up with a touch of pnuemonia, and couldnt go outside to smoke.....at this same time we learned our oldest was highly allergic to smoke after numerous visits to speacialist and lots of hospital stays.....so i told her if she touched another ciggarette i would divorce her and take full custogy of both kids....

she has been a non smoker for 3 1/2 years now.....

hell i took on another bank note with the extra money saved and the house no longer reeks of smoke.....

I figured it up for my parents one day and they could save around $500 a month from not smoking. Down here its almost $6 a pack.

I don't get how some people can afford it. When I was in Chicago in May I paid $9.90/pack. I'll be saving about $2,000/year now.

I'm 22 and I smoked for 9 years. I'd smoke 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day.

I quit on nicorette patchs on new years eve. Haven't smoked since. The patchs helped me alot but made me sick after a few weeks.

What it really takes is will power. I watched my 2 year old son pick up a pack of cigarettes, pull one out, and act like he was smoking. I started smoking at a young age because seeing my mom and step dad smoke. Wasn't going to do that to my son.

I smoke when I drink or only when I'm really really stressed the fuck out. Some weeks i won't smoke once. Others I drop a pack and half. I smoked a lot sophomore year. Then can't afford it and still can't. I smoked one in stress yesterday and 3-4 while we partied. Haven't had one today.

I quit in January with Chantix (good drug, Iffy side effects)

Started again about a month ago, due to stress (not nearly as much as before)

On the road to quitting again with chantix.

Its a great drug for quitting, I've never seen anything like it - But the side effects suck for some people -- most of it is associated with dreams (nightmares, extremely graphic, and extremely real dreams), but I never really minded it. I kind of like a bad or realistic dream every once in a while.

I remember taking it one night and waking up mad as hell from one of the dreams, but on another hand I've never seen anything that curves the cravings like it does.

I smoked cigars from the age of 18 to now every day. A lot of them were the big expensive ones. I threw them down 5 months ago.

I smoked for about 8 years. Pack a day nearly. My fiance absolutely hated it. For the first year of our relationship I never smoked infront of her. After she moved in with me, it really started bothering her. That was 10 months ago.

I've not smoked since August 14th right now. I had a lot of cravings/urges, instead of smoking, I used sunflower seeds, constantly. I'd go through the big 14.5oz David brand bag of seeds in like 2 days lol. I'm cutting back on that now too though :)
