I met him at midnight in a parking lot grabbed the wheel and tossed it in the car...I do take some of the blame for not inspecting it thoroughly but I was told it was fine so I took his word. Again a mistake...

I would have done the same thing most likely. I have got burnt before by taking someone at there word. You never know he may get a conscious and give you your money back. What are you going to do with the wheel now?
